Possible new wheels... WHAT YOU THINK??

Looking at getting some new wheels and a local garage has these....

And he'll do them for £240 for the set!! (not inc tyres) but as they are 17"s he said he will fit my tyres onto them for free :D

What do you guys think? I think they are a steal and they will look mint... unfortunately have to wait till next month before i can get them! :(

Also I'm mulling over the idea of removing the back box and getting it straight piped... he will do it for about £120-150 will it be way too loud and chavish :evil: or sound nice? :thumbsup:

oh and the wheels are TSW does anyone know the name of them?? iv'e searched the net and can't even find a pic!! :headbang:

Not for me, prefer OEM but they don't look too bad.

Are the offsets correct?

No gearing problems, can keep my tyres, cheaper tyres, lighter wheels, and more tread to use :)

they have these adjustable / free moving inner's (excuse the crude explanation) but they can fit on any car ! :D
 
Friend of mine runs a set of TSW's on his Beetle (amongst other sets of wheels) and somehow amongst all the wheels he's rocked, he has never parted with his set of TSW's.

As for the back box delete, more pops and burbles, a straight pipe would be more what one would constitute as chavvy.

Personally I'd push for a lower price, I paid less for my x5 tiger claws so I reckon there may me some margin for negotiation

a lower price? I think £60 a wheel inc vat is pretty darn good! :? (i do live in Cornwall things are expensive as fook down here)

when you say a straight pipe is chavy... do you mean all the way from the manifold back? I'm only thinking about getting a straight bit of pipe put where the back box would be..

or is there anything else i can do exhaust wise that would give me a meaty sound at lower speeds??
 
Finally.... I have found the wheels online, they are TSW Shadows is anyone really good with Photoshop that could surgically implant them onto the photo above if i post a good pic of the wheels?? :D I'm crap as at photo editing bla bla bla lol

Backbox delete :lol: it's not a computer mate, it's a bit of metal. Removal would be better.

Delete is too much of a vag scene word now when relating it to cars.

With regards to the wheels, they look cheap and naff. That's just my own personal opinion though. It's your car to do as you please.

I wouldn't say they look naff, I think they look quite good, obviously my photo isn't brilliant they look better in person :)

and sorry i didn't realise, so many things on here have like "names" and everything i had found called it a backbox delete ! lol

I will call it removal from now on :D
 
I think it's more the size than anything. 5 spokes look great on z4's but they need to be larger.

For the price you can't complain. They look better than the daisys you have currently :)
 
I like the wheels but I wouldn't stay with 17's, I'd spend a bit more cash and get 18's at least. Don't just buy these because they are cheap, there's a reason they are cheap, no-one wants them!

They are cheap because they are old stock... I'm thinking of getting them because i like the style look of them, I would like bigger wheels... but I don't mind having 17inch wheels, it keeps things easy and means i don't have to buy new tyres :)

But... because they are so cheap... if I decide i do want bigger wheels... I can ebay /sell them (maybe even make a little something on top) and then get 18's or these could stay as winter wheels... many possibilities!! :thumbsup:
