Positive terminal post is very hot

Hello. I’m looking at wiring in my trickle charger but noticed that the positive terminal post under the hood/bonnet gets very hot. I just measured it at 133F/56C and the car has been sat in my garage for the last 3 hours. Yesterday, while removing the post for a test fit it was literally too hot to handle without gloves. Concern is that it could melt the insulation on the trickle charger tap. Anyone else run into this? Thanks

If it’s getting hot there is high resistance in the terminal and probably a voltage drop, check for loose or dirty connections
