I know a lot of us ditch the run flats and i am joining that fold tomorrow :D With my new DIY re-re- refurbished wheels i am a little excited!!

Has any one got any experiences as to witch compressors and tyre weld gunk is best? I have had a look just wanted a recommendation?

Thank Monkey

I've got this one and it fits really neatly into the rear compartment, next to the battery: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ring-Automotive-RAC630-Automatic-Compressor/dp/B002Q560WE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1366297880&sr=8-2&keywords=ring+portable+compressor

WAAAAAAIIIIIIIT!!!!!

It's this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ring-Automotive-RAC600-Compressor-Including/dp/B000UPEHJU/ref=sr_1_5?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1366299994&sr=1-5&keywords=ring+portable+compressor

:)

Yeah, definitely the second one I linked. It's 20 x 20.2 x 9.6 cm and is a tight fit. The first one is a different shape - 21 x 18.6 x 10.4 - so I'm guessing it won't fit without the help of a hammer.

I splurged too early, sorry. :?

I have a twin barrel Halfords foot pump in the boot because I enjoy not being able to walk for two days after pumping a tyre up :)

I made the change on Tuesday to normal tyres and bought one from Halford for 20 quid. Unfortunately I won't know if it's any good till it's too late :)

Don't forget to let us know if there is a noticeable difference before you do the other mods you've got in mind

What you need Mm is a compressor with gunk solution , something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRAND-NEW-CONTI-CONTINENTAL-COMPRESSOR-AND-TYRE-SEALANT-TYRE-REPAIR-INFLATOR-/171025266137?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyre_Trims_Trims_ET&hash=item27d1e675d9
The idea being as soon as you think you have a puncture (ideally with TPMS ) you fire this in through the inflator & it seals from the inside .
Inflating a tyre using the woeful tyreweld stuff & a pump is gonna leave you pissing in the wind 8)

Tesco are selling off their 400ml tyreweld half price at £3.50. Compared to the 500ml at £10 a good buy.! Never used it but see s to e the market leader.

The cheapo canned stuff is a WoFT  the Holts i tried wouldn't even sort my dad's wheelbarrow wheel out

Has anyone heard of Tyreweld success on anything other than a caravan/boat trailer/wheelbarrow/golf cart/spacehopper?

I'm also making the switch to nRFTs soon.

I have this one and some Holtz tyre weld

I have never had a puncture in my 11 years of motoring, so don't expect to use either (saying that I'll get a puncture tomorrow now....!)

I think I'm going to go for the "slime" stuff since there seem to be a lot of reports of it actually working well (assuming you have a compressor).
