Was thinking of swapping the car out for a 911 turbo but was soon out of the question when I saw the prices they are asking for them, couldnt believe my eyes, it will take a lottery win to get the 964 or 993 examples and the later ones have the ruined styling. Oh well lets carry on dreaming.......

The prices & availability of any 964 & 993 have gone off the scale last 18 months
You only need a quick look at the relevant classified section of 911uk.com which reveals just 2 x 964,s & 3 x 993,s :o
2/3 years ago the same sections would have 15 or 20 of each available from £10k on 964,s & £15k on 993,s
I,m talking non turbo of course as those model,s have always held "special" rates of £25k upwards with no sign of them relenting .
A great way of enjoying an investment though

997 S's can be had for 22-25k these days, not as costly to maintain either

"not as costly to maintain " :o should have been followed by "providing you get lucky with no engine meltdown problem,s"
The net is full of arguement & debate over this but in reality it would seem luck is a major factor in watercooled ownership up to 997 Gen2
997 gen 1,s did go sub £20k ( viewed one myself 2 years ago at £18750 ) for 80k examples but seem to have strengthened also

The turbo has a different far stronger engine. If it's a 997. I would only ever consider the Turbo. Plus I like the lights. :)

I reckon that 911 bubble will burst sooner rather than later. They are wonderful and for every day a 996 Turbo S is a fantasy, but its just so tatty and naff in and out... feels like 1980's kitchen Appliance and looks even worse. Just not Worth the money...

Aircooled Porsches are the best.

The lovely wail of the flat6 is intoxicating.

Prices will keep on increasing.

Buying one will get you zero depreciation.

Really never was thrilled by porsche really, was impressed when I saw a gt3rs in the flesh but non of the normal beetles attracted me. I do love the carrera gt, makes one of the best noises I've ever heard!
