I'm selling my 997 turbo to a dealer this weekend. every time i say i've done the Porsche thing (had 3 now) and need to try something different they go and bring out something awesome. At the moment it's a 911_50 or the new Targa, but i really want to get an R8 spyder out my system.

PVR did you get the 911_50? were residuals part of the equation? as a limited run i'm thinking they might even go up in value at some point, like the sport classic, whilst the Targa has a lot of depreciation to go.

I have no plans to sell my 911_50th ever, so residuals was not really a consideration but the spec and the fact it is different is nice.

Currently the second hand prices seem to be above new value, or about the same.

Come the 60th anniversary Im guessing prices will be at least half again on new for the _50.

Even the cream ones.

Lovely as it is it lacks the hatch of the 997 - best looking targa for me is the 993 .

Thanks for the post. Adam - I think the Escort was trying to mirror the classic targa look and somewhat failing.

wow what a long name for a car for the 50th Anniversary - Targa_50 would have sounded better ... PVR will now tell me why that would have been impossible .
