Poorly Pump Problems

Well it looks like the roof pump has given up the ghost - it is the start of summer after all
i've had to assist the roof to open a couple of times once its clear of the screen locks, fyi, motor can be heard running but i must admit the usual hydraulic groan has stopped, unit has been relocated. Bypass plunger is showing sticking out.
Does anyone have any test procedures or pressure readings at outlet ports on the hyd pump unit, cant belie the lack of info on the hyd system, could it be a lift ram passing internally ? loathe to waste cash buying a replacement pump unit if a lift ram has gone. then do i change both ??
any info would be greatly received.

Check the fluid level. If it was groaning before then that implies air getting in.
Hopefully you just need to add some to allow for the greater angle it sits at now.
Stand it upright and fill until it spills. You will still have an air gap when you put it back in place.

Worst case is a split hose, but you'll soon know that if the level drops again quickly.

Never one to miss an opportunity, I have spare pipes and rams if needed. :D
