Poorboys Black hole and AG SRP together ?

Hi

I've just ordered some Poorboys Back Hole.

I've read that some people put autoglym super resin polish on to the paintwork first, and then put black hole on top.
Is this a good idea ?
I presume the srp would slightly cut the paint with a bit of filling and the black hole would top up the filling
, but would the srp fill all the swirls and not leave black hole anything to fill ?

And finally, I have Autoglym HD wax on my black paintwork at the moment. Do I need to strip it all back to bare paint or can I put down a layer of black boys and HD Wax on top if the existing HD wax ?

Thanks

Rob

Hi Rob!

i wouldn't worry about AG SRP cutting as i understand the new formular on has very very slight cutting properties and is much more of a filler in my view. I have also used their HD was for many years as well! brilliant product! tbh if your wanting to get the best results personally i would give the car a good wash to stip everything off and then apply the srp followed by the black hole and then some more HD wax!

Good Luck!

Rob (as well)

I can't imagine, as both SRP and PBBH have filler properties that BH will do anything. I'd use a good polish to minimise scratches/lines/anything left and then apply PB BH or SRP and then wax/selant over the top. Come the new year when the weather improves, I'm going the whole hog and DA'ing the whole car with a mild cutting compound, then high gloss polish, then sealant, using PBBH only for masking light swirls for the rest of the year before I repeat the process again.

To strip off existing wax might be worth spending 30 minutes claying the car. Remove all contaminants and give the sealant/ wax a better surface to bond to.

I tried it for the first time 4-5 weeks ago, was a bit nervous, but really easy to do and fantastic results.

As said, SRP then PBBH will be fine. But make sure you apply a sealant/ wax on top. Being that winter is coming, a sealant tends to be harder wearing, something like Chemical Guys Jetseal on top of PBBH will do a great job

Give it a wash with fairy liquid to remove all the the old wax etc. I always then give it a 2nd wash before it drys with a decent shampoo like born to me mild etc.

I use both with and then seal, anybody who has seen my car at the meet will agree that its not caused me any problems, and is easy to apply.
