Poor baby

Oops!

I have to admit to making bigger gaffs than that throughout my life!
Well, I hope it wasn't in some down town bar under the influence of alcohol, when you thought you'd got lucky ? :o

I was a teenager long before the Internet or security cameras.
A Bobby on a bike was a mobile task force and there was no 70mph limit or breathalyser - old as dirt

Now that's funny !!

Sorry to hear about this. Don't think you can go wrong with an E89.

What is the damage to your car?

Sad to hear this- what are your plans with the salvage? I had mine repaired for around £600 for what would have been write off damage due to parts costs.

Haha thanks for correcting Number5.

I want to buy the Zed back from the insurance. They offered figure X at which apparently the salvage company apply 12% of the value cost. This is how much I would pay to retain the car. When I insisted it was worth more they offered me few hundred more but said the increased value was over Y so the salvage cost would be 20%. Therefore it seems I should accept the first figure to get avoid paying more. I want to see how much I might be able to get it fixed for myself.
In the meantime I've hired a polo which is convenient but NOT nice because it feels wrong. Also weird to have a bigger rear end than front unlike the Zed. I can cope without a car for a while but it's put a damper on my property buying ideas as it's difficult to get to viewings.
I'm thinking maybe to get a cheap run around car whilst looking for something better like an E89 or TT maybe. Or would Carol recommend Porsche?
Also thanks Carol, you're right that the Important thing is that no one got hurt but I'm still sad. Went to visit the baby yesterday and retrieved my stubby, replaced it with the whip. The guys at BMW Cotswolds probably think I'm an idiot after they saw me hugging it!

Did you manage to take any photos or have any reports on it yet, as someone on here may be able to give you a rought estimate.

So You took the stubby but left the MM gear knob behind ??. Matt will be flattered !

Nooo I'm fully getting it back, didn't have Allen key on me. But I'm keeping it anyway so it shouldn't be going anywhere.

BMW estimate was £7480..

BMW figure is irrelevant as thats with their labour and new parts. You will be surprised what can be down for little money

Well it's needs a lot of bodywork and according to their parts list a radiator, condenser and electric fan. I think the engine is fine as it starts and there's no warnings or leakages.

Update: Z4 sent to my relative to get fixed, an Audi A3 'temporary' car bought. It's quite nice spec, haven't picked it up yet but it's not a Z4! :( :( :(
Also received a cheque from the insurance and I'm considering some Valentinos...which the girls would understand. Hehe

Be sure to keep plenty of pictures- post them on here as well - and that way if you ever sell you can show the quality of repairs.
