Poly Bush Kit

My Z4M 2007 Roadster needs a new track control arm, as its starting to knock a little. While it was on the ramp, I was thinking of Poly Bushing the car, or suitable alternative (don't know if there is one, so open to suggestions).

I've done a quick google search, but cant find a complete kit for the Z4M, so I'm looking for some help in tracking down the kit, or individual items to make up a kit. I seem to recal from previous cars, that different sizes might apply for roll bars etc, and struggled to get the right ones. So is there an easy way of getting the right kit from the VIN number of the car ?

Any help on where I can get these Poly Bush'd from would be much appreciated.

I've been in touch with Powerflex and they don't have a kit listed.

Any other suggestions

Try giving these guys a call, whilst their site does not show them for the //M I would give them a call, I found them to be very helpful and friendly when I bought my Poly bushes, They should be either able to get them or point you in the right direction

Can't remember exact figures but for my 04 2.5 it was £150 ish for all of them, I was then roughly the same again for labour to have em fitted, I bought my eibachs at the same time and fitted with a full alignment check and 1 new tyre, so my break down for the cost of the bushes and fitting is a guesstimate.
You definatly feel the difference, especially on RFT's , the real difference can be felt when on a nice (smooth)road with twistys, the combination of the eibachs and bushes made a nice difference to the whole feel of the car

I've now had an indepth discussion with Power Flex re these items, and they do not do an 'M' kit, all the ones they sell under Z4 are for non 'M' cars. He did however offer the following info if anyone else is interested. The following is cut and pasted from his email

Front
- Although the wishbone is the same as a stock Z4/E46, it uses an offset bush which is specific to the Z4M (which we don’t make yet)
- The front roll bar uses the same bush as the E6 M3 Cabrio which is for a 27mm ARB (which we also don’t make yet)

Rear
- Rear Trailing PFR5-3608 will fit your model. This is the same as the E46 M3
- Rear beam bushes PFR5-4610 and PFR5-4611 will fit your model. These are the same as the E46 M3
- Rear Anti roll bar uses the same bush as the E46 M3 CSL which is 22.5mm. This is our part number PFR5-4609-22.5

I have spoken to our development team and made them aware that we need to make the front wishbone bush and Front ARB bush. These have been put on our development list but in all honesty it will be some time before they are complete due to other projects

I would question the wisdom of poly bushing for road use unless you are replacing parts with a reputation for failing prematurely or for being unduly compliant, I'm not sure that applies to a Zed, less so an M.

Suspension components should 'damp out' movement and vibration to allow effective control of the wheels and protect against shock. Stiffening one part will expose another to increased stress reducing their effectiveness (causes bump-steer, tramlining, snap oversteer) and exaggerated wear or damage (RFTs & rear springs?).

I've had poly bushes on other motors in the past and found that I was replacing other suspension components or a steering rack/bushes in no time, but would be interested to hear how people get on with them on a Zed?
