Polishing tools

I had a guy from a Revive mobile service polish away some surface scratches the other day, with great results. He used a 3M Perfect cut product and a couple of different rotary devices. One was just a small foam pad attached to a cordless drill.

I thought I'd get some pads and adapter for my drill, but only seem to be able to find cheap-looking Chinese stuff on EBay and Amazon. Without going OTT with special tools, what would others recommend?

I started out with a pad on a drill many years ago. I never had much success with it - you just can't get the right pressure on the pad and it's awkward to hold. You also have to be careful with it, especially around edges as the non-dual action can result in a lot of heat build up. In contrast, the DA polisher was a revelation.

Really, I would just forget the drill idea and go for a decent budget DA starter kit like this. You won't regret it..... https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/das-6-v2-dual-action-polisher-menzerna-intro-kit-1

Try this? https://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-G3500-Action-Power-System/dp/B009OBVRY4

I have one and it works quite well, I don't have space at home for a standalone polisher.
