well i got my oil service and brake service done today. They also fitted a new thermostat under warranty (£100 excess). £380 all in! Also bought the cruise stalk while i was there another £60. So my wallet is emptier but the z is healthy again and a new toy to fit!

Also reassuring when an FOC item is the only thing the garage picks up! Nice to see all dealers don't meet low expectations. Out of interest, who was it?
 
what is it with people and cruise control on this forum? your all addicted to it. you can have my cruise control off my car, as i have used it once (to see if it worked) in the 2.5 years of ownership !
 
The only time I used the cruise control in my E60 was on empty motorway. That's why it is not on my E89's option list. How often do you guys use cruise control? Everyday? It will be nice to have it on a used car. But I don't think I will retrofit it.
 
i use mine quite often but as i don't live in a city i probably get more opportunity to use it. also makes long motorway journeys a bit better and returns better mpg than me going at warp speed
 
Cruise is really good in the 50 mph zones that are EVERYWHERE :roll: on the motorways now. Also i use it a lot on the motorways in general when its quiet, stops me getting faster and faster without realising. Also stops me constantly looking at the speedo. :)
 
Pretty much the same here - M4 average speed zones and late night to keep the speed down. If I didn't have it as standard I really wouldn't be fussed though.

Cruise is a MUST have item over here. A short drive is 60 miles and the roads are not windy with lots of stops as in the UK. It also keeps the law off your back if you set the cruise and sit back. It's far too easy to go too fast on these roads. Draining a full tank of fuel at 70mph with no stops is a common occurrence for me.
 
I use mine all the time... when I'm on a motorway and it's not jam packed with idiots changing lanes/slamming brakes on etc. then cruise control is on. Great for conforming to the average speed checks, keeping a good mpg and my license clean!

Never thought I'd use it, but I actually really like it now.
 
I would of loved it on the 5.5hr drive south last weekend, im sure the 50 limit covered by average speed cameras on the A1 is getting longer everytime i go through it.
