please help me lock issues

I picked up my 2006 2.0 SE z4 today happy with her, but locking it is a problem, the alarm goes off sometimes if you use the fob button, but when I put the key into the drivers lock it doesn't go in all the way do can't lock it, I used lubrication on the lock but nothing... The booth lock works with the key fine, just the drivers door?? Weird I read about the link between the bonnet catch senor and the alarm, but that doesn't explain the key not going into the lock. Someone please help

I’d disconnect the bonnet sensor to see if that shuts the alarm up & then investigate the door lock, have you got a second key & has that got the same issue? :?

Why is the key not going into the lock even a concern? Sort the alarm out and just use the central locking like 99.9% of people do.

Hi Rob, I don't have a second key, the alarm just went off and the doors locked, funny thing is they were locked for hours before the alarm went off anyway the main reason I'd like the manual lock working is so I can get in should I have a fob issue. Is this a fairly common issue?

The bonnet alarm sensor failure is a common problem, leading to intermittent activation of the alarm. This can happen hours after locking and setting the alarm. Sensor replacement is an easy and cheap fix, cleaning the sensor in something like WD40 is a temporary fix (was for me), but likely to fail again fairly quickly.

Get another key ASAP or you could be in a world of pain if you lose the one you have

Thanks lance, disconnected the bonnet sensor problem solved getting a new key cut next week thanks again.
