Hi,

When idelling and espically when the accelerator is depressed the noise in the video can be heard.

I have been googling the issue and some say it could be an air intake valve or a sqeaky belt, to me it sounds like its the belt but its hard to say.

Is anyone able to identify the problem from the sound in the video?

Thanks very much

I suspect that's probably a bearing on a pulley. Hard to say which exactly - could be alternator, one of 2 idler pulleys / tensioner or aircon. First thing to do is to remove the aux belt and see if the noise stops.

Thanks very much for your response and picture, unfortunately I dont have any mechanical understanding however, do you have a ballpark idea of what it would cost to get a garage to diagnose and fix if it is indeed what you think?

Cheers

Not really sure as don’t use garages. I guess £60 an hour is reasonable for an indy and taking the belt off and back on should be 30 mins max.

Perhaps something was wiffed about the filters pleats? So when on throttle the oil pressure passing through the filter made a sound....?
