I was considering a330i 4 door as a replacement as and when the baby is on its way?

I did consider a 335d but I have heard expensive repair bills also reliability of a335i isn't great so maybe another 52 engined BMW is a safer bet?

A familiar story. One I experienced just over 2 years ago and sold the Z4MC for a 335i MSport saloon. So long as it doesnt rattle on the over-run you'll be fine. If you're paranoid get yourself a warranty direct policy. If youre really paranoid go for a 330d and remap it to within an inch of its life.

The 335i is a monster and must be experienced. Total Q Car.

Cut a move out & go straight for the tourer , great cars the E91s
^this.

Worth considering as the 335 lacked any type of serious space for all the sh*t you'll need

Will this be you only car, if not hold off and see how you get on. I bought my zed when my twins were 2. I also have my company car now, but We could cope with the zed and the Mrs car again if We had to.

More importantly, planning and practicing for a baby is the most enjoyable bit and you should try and stretch it out as long as possible

Ha ha very true how about for 40 years

335i saloon awsome sleeper car. BUT speaking from experience the e90 has a mediocre boot compared to an Audi A4 of similar era. Trust me these kids need boot space!

I was in the same boat, well not the baby bit, but needed a big 5 door car. I purchased the Zed and a cheap X-Type lol. Its looks great, drives well, hits 40mpg and still have the Zed for weekend fun!
