Pivoting outside rearview mirrors

Seen this on a few car from members, is this an option? I have both sport and premium packages. Tried to pivot by hand with minimal effort, but wont budge... :?

I've got the manual mirrors and they take a fair amount of force to move. They rotate up and to the rear along the joint between the mirror cover and the base. The few times I've done it, it feels like something will break before the mirror rotates, never does.

The only time I use this option is to drain the water out after washing the vehicle.

I pivot/move mine up before every wash.. Once or twice a week...

has annyyyyooneee done the retrofit of the auto jobs ? they'd look sooo cool.. especially if they could be linked to locking / unlocking the car.

Apparently this chap in Newcastle that Rov1 mentioned knows how, but wondered if any forum members have attempted it..
