Picking UP Wednesday...

Getting really excited now, had the call that the car will be ready for collection Wednesday!

Ordered a 28i and although not on the same great deal offered on the 20i I still got £8k off list price.

Was originally going to get it delivered, but after discovering that they would be driving it to me rather than it being on a transporter I've decided to take a 5 hour train journey so I can enjoy putting the first 300 miles on it myself! (Picking up from Cornwall as a previous colleague now works for that dealer group and got me a decent deal).

Been very jelous of watching everyone else collecting their Z, but will be my turn in a few long days!

Few pics the dealer sent when it came off the transporter, just hope its clean when I collect it. I know the wood is not going to be to everyones tastes

I think the wood looks ok with the walnut and dark blue

Hope it didn't come on that rust bucket though :D

I've only sat in a Z4 briefly, and had a quick drive in a new 328i to get a feel for the engine, so really looking forward to driving it.

The Walnut Leather looks more orangy than I was expecting, but I'm sure it will look good in the flesh.

Don't worry, I will be checking EVERYTHING, as to be honest the whole process has been one big mess, culminating in me getting the finance paperwork this week with the correct monthly payment but over 4 years instead of 3! Thought it was a simple mistake, but oh no they were adamant I was confused and that they would never do the deal I was suggesting had been agreed. I'm sure you can imagine how stressed I was, but all calls were recorded by the dealer and it was found to be their mistake. The biggest issue for me was they made out they were doing me a massive favour correcting their mistake (having to discount the car another £1,500 to get the figures to work) and that they would rather back out of the deal and sell the car on the forecourt for more. Not one apology from the Finance Manger who made the balls up and accused me of practically trying to renegotiate, but to be fair the salesman did apologise and admitted it hadn't gone smoothly. All will be forgotten once it's in my hands :driving:

I love the walnut, but the wood interior.....sorry I think I would be trying to swap/wrap in something else perhaps piano black.

Good luck on Wednesday though, have a fun journey back and I hope it's sunny

Looking good sir,.. Although I may be biased with the interior. You won't be disappointed with the walnut :D

Bloody hell, is that the transporter in the 3rd pic? :?

Zed is looking fabulous, love the wood trim with the walnut leather, very nice 8)

I really hope your collection day goes as well as mine did, it was a fab morning collecting the Zed. If possible ask your dealer if they can do the handover indoors, they may do anyways but worth checking. For me it took all the stress looking over the car and felt much more relaxed than being outside, I don't know why it felt better but it seemed easier to go over the car with a fine toothcomb, also its a big plus if its raining on the day.

Ocean BMW if im not mistaken gook dealership got a few good deals from them myself

lovely car hope you enjoy the trip home :driving:

Lovely car!!!! Can see why you were jealous at everyone else's collections, but as you say- your turn is here, so enjoy enjoy enjoy!!!!

Totally agree with you collecting it yourself rather than them driving it to you! You want it with delivery miles (circa 10) not 300+ that could've been ragged by some monkey! Plus, makes a better experience I reckon!

Bought a used E46 from Ocean once, so if it is that group, then they were good. Use Westerly mainly, cos they are about a mile from my door!

Love the colour. Think the dark blue with wood trim and cream leather is the best in my opinion, but I do like the wood trim, and anyway, its your car, so who cares what we think!

Sounds like a real cock up over the finance but glad you got it sorted. Must've tainted things a bit, but luckily they were proved wrong and have honoured the deal. Nice to get those photo's as well.

So, to say it again....

ENJOY!!!!!

Yes, it is Ocean BMW in Falmouth. Never even been to Cornwall before so should be a good day! Keep checking the weather though and it looks like it going to be raining all week again :x

I wasn't considering the wood initially but when I tried it in the configurator I thought it went really well! Unfortunately the colours seem to be more different in real life. I will reserve judgement until I see it Wednesday, but lets face it I'm going to have to live with it! I should really of checked out samples first in the dealer.

This is how the configurator shows it
