Picked up on Saturday, 2 hour drive home flew by! :D

Absolutely love it, and cannot get enough of that noise. Going to do a tunnel tonight :D

Needs a really good clean though and then I'll get some pics up.

I've been thinking about a warranty and wonder what peoples thoughts are. Warranty Direct have quoted £835 for the year which would cover main dealer work and is highest level of cover 'extra care'. BMW want over £2500!!

It's an 07 with 64k miles. Do people have many issues, £835 would be quite easy to spend in a year if a bit unlucky but also got to factor in a £50 excess for each claim... I think it is a fair price but can't decide whether to go for it or not.

Depends how many miles you are doing. Mine does 2k per year so IMO it's just not worth it.

That BMW price seems a bit steep though.

I've had the BMW one from when I bought it, but it's still at the £80/month level as it's never lapsed.

Whichever one you go for, make sure you read the small print, as whilst the 'cover' details will tell you all about the big stuff, the small print may say that claims may be rejected/adjusted due to wear & tear and mileage. So a higher mileage car my only get 50% of the claim paid for something they consider to be 50% worn or due replacement anyway.

It's based on age/mileage. The last time I thought about downgrading mine to named component only the price doubled :headbang:

For me, doing 20-25k a year, it's a no-brainer, but am prepared for a fight if something major goes and they start to play hardball due to it's age!

Yes good point, WD say they pay 80% of parts and 100% for the labour at current mileage.
