On these forums I see a lot of posts where people can't decide whether to paint their OEM calipers or not as they may still look a bit naff. When I was in Odessa recently I saw loads of old square Ladas with the drum brakes painted red much to my amusement. I would have taken some photos but wasn't sure what would happen if the owner suddenly saw me (coward).

Anyway, I was at the Poole, "Quay for My Car" roadster evening again last night and there was an XR3i Cabriolet, a pic just had to be taken.... :roll:





So pick out those OEM calipers, chest out and stand proud!

I quite like the idea of a retro car and that's nice and restrained!... possibly wouldn't go for an Escort though. Nice E30 325i cabriolet wouldn't go amiss....

OMG! I remember when these were 'the'car! Saw an old Mk II Golf CTI the other week and remember thinking how small, boxy (and shite) they looked in comparison to modern equivalents.
