Big post about this in the problems page buddy

It's a pain as they want £200!! To be able to do it

So I don't know if admin can allow is to use their post add pic thing to do the signature

Yes, there is a thread already with at least 5 pages on it!

I only joined it to post photos on here because there was no other option when I joined the forum but and found it a right royal PITA from day one!

As soon as you could post photos from your PC I stopped using it as I have them all on my hard drive anyway (and backed up elsewhere but on a piece of hardware I own, not in some sort of virtual cloud).

Just cancel!

This is how I was told to do it by the very helpful guys on here.
I have just copied it over.....

I may have missed it but can someone do an idiots guide to posting photos on the site and include how to include an image as part of your signature?
how to upload pics to the forum:

from within your post -
click on the 'add files' below the window
Select the picture you want to post from your computer
click on 'place in line'
click on 'preview' to see if it has worked
then 'submit'

how to link to pics for signature:

Uploading Signature:

Click on your name (top right)
Select 'user control panel'
Select 'profile tab'
Select 'edit signature'
Then link to the image you want in your sig and add your text (currently you have to host your sig picture on another site)
Then submit

Note: there is a 255 character limit and also a file size limit for your signature image (600 x 150 pixels)
Colin, could you please screen dump the add files icon as I don't seem to have it.
I missed a step if you are not using 'quick reply' - sorry, you need to click on 'attachments' first and then 'add files'

Microsoft OneDrive

So you can copy link from there?
As have it on phone but not used for pics yet

Yes, its a little bit of a phaff to begin with but once you've linked to one or two its easy:

Select your pic, then click on the ' . . . ' and then 'embed'

then 'generate'

then copy the code

Paste in into your post and wrap in 'img' as follows (leaving out the quotes):
'

Going to lock this as there is already a thread on it but the advice is to use whatever you like to backup your photos (Google/Onedrive/Flickr) but then upload the image directly to the forum when you post. That way the image is properly linked to the post and doesn't rely on external services to remain active.

On the reply (or post) page there is an attachments tab... inside that is "add files"... use that to upload your images. There is also a similar option on the quick reply.

As I said, definitely keep your albums backed up in the online services but please do consider uploading direct to the forum, it helps us out a lot :)
