Philip Seymour Hoffman found dead

Wow, that's awful, multi talented actor. So young too.

Ok it's one of his more low brow roles (Sandy Lyle) but I fell about during this scene at an art gallery from Along came Polly >

Sandy Lyle: Reuben, I'm in a situation here. We have to leave now.
Reuben Feffer: No. Can we stay a couple more minutes?
Sandy Lyle: Dude, no. This is serious. I just sharted.
Reuben Feffer: I don't know what that means.
Sandy Lyle: I tried to fart and a little s**t came out. I just sharted. Now let's go.
Reuben Feffer: You're the most disgusting person I've ever met in my life.

RIP

Sad that despite being a talented actor he felt the need to dabble with heroin.

Also sad for his loved ones.

Shame, feel quite sick tbh

Same - feels like he would have been a true screen icon well into old age had he not passed. It is always worth watching any film with PSH in!

I imagine there are thousands of aspiring actors around the world that feel a bit lost at the moment. :(

junkies die all the time on heroin... he's no different... what a f***ing waste.
Agree, really don’t understand why all these stars/celebrities do the drugs thing, like Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and many more they could have everything, why, why, why throw it all away on a drug habit, you would think that they would know better, just don't get it.

Probably relentless psychological distress from being in the limelight / constantly scrutinised by society.

I'm going to admit I'd never heard of him. I must have been living in a bubble by the sounds of it.

It's always sad when someone dies so young from an addiction they can't conquer.

I would add that the mental makeup of an actor that allows them to play "make believe" for money makes them vulnerable from the start. Also, To many actors are surrounded by "yes" people (think Houston & Jackson) that will only coddle them and act as enablers instead of challenging them to do the right thing.
