Pretty sure that the remotes use rolling codes now that can't be "grabbed" but I did read recently about crims using a jammer of some description so that when the lock button gets pressed on the remote, the car doesn't actually receive the signal and stays open.

Yup, that's so big in South Africa that most insurance companies won't cover you if that happens!
 
was on a film that someone recorded the blip of someones remote locking on their mobile phone and then replayed it to unlock the car ? or was i daydreaming ? not sure if i think it would work - but one never knows
