Ok mate-will domarkeg said:Rather than WD on the pin, squirt some little light oil down the hole when the pin's recessed, and unlock/lock a few times, see if that helps? Also, check your locking pin recess hole in the filler cap, make sure nothing's lodged in there?

Aaarh not WD40. it has thousands of uses but as Markeg says use light oil. WD40 dries over time to a thick solid substance and tend to clog things up.
Thanks -i will check it outmarkeg said:BTW Andy, if the loud noise is the 'thunk' and not the motor, then it may be that your filler cap door has moved slightly rather than the pin moving too far and hitting the end of the recess. Try to see if the noise is coming from the recess end rather than the motor end, and check the gap around the filler door when its closed, should be constant all the way round.
