Pesky Pothole!!!

Driving through the country lanes at night, didn't see a pothole that made a hell of a bang as I went across it!
Noticing a very intermittent metallic creaking noise now and then, very intermittent though. Doesnt matter what I do, I can't replicate it when I want to, but then out of nowhere driving slowly, I'll pick up on it. Car also feels a little jumpy at motorway speed, like I have to constantly correct the steering. I jacked the car up and had the back wheels off thinking it could be a broken rear spring but they looked ok. Wondering if it's a front spring gone.
Guessing it'll be a trip to the indy to have a look underneath. Those damn potholes!! :headbang:

Wheel balancing weight? Granted that is unlikely to impact on the noises you've heard.

Do you have a center strut brace? It's more than possible that you've cracked one of the mounts either side that go to the strut tops, I've done it before on my old m3 over unsigned road work bump at night :headbang:
£50ish a side from the dealer if so.
