Thanks for the idea. Don’t think so. Have to be driving and even then it’s not that loud. I don’t think phone would pick it up.

Ok drove the 2005 z4 2.5 with 125000 miles today (automatic transmission) and heard my weird vibration noise consistently at 1600 rpm’s (stops by 2000 rpm’s). It does NOT happen in that rpm range at all if in neutral and just revving. Forgot to try on incline or decline. Thoughts or new insights with this disclosure?

Could be prop shaft centre bearing

I recorded the sound of my rattle/scraping by holding my phone out the window. I started from 0mph and slowly increased the speed to about 15-20mph. That was enough to get a good sample. Just a thought...
