Performing a clear indicator headlight DIY

Hi

I will be posting up pictures as I go along but I have one question at this point in time for those that has done the conversion. Is it possible to do the DIY when the sacrificial headlights (07 xenon) have a broken outer lens. They were damaged when I purchased it but I managed to extract the clear indicators (hockey stick looking thing) and the chrome housing out no problems. I guess what I am asking is whether my oem prefacelift halogen headlights can be cut and sealed back at the joins after placing the hockey stick and the chrome housing in? Or do I need a sacrificial set with the outer lens intact? I have already read cj's thread which was very informative.
Thanks
Eric

You need one set where you need the body in tack, and another the lens in tack and use the bits to make 1 good set. I've just tried hacking up an old light again, trying to work out how the American company opens them and re seals, I've come to the conclusion it's beyond my talents so I'm using the 2 set method, I'll be doing my set next week, need to have my other car on the road so I can garage the z4 as it will have no headlights for a few days. I'm doing mine to match the wheel colour / angel eyes / dark tinted indicator.
