People with comfort access?

... must be the way you said it, Mike.... or maybe everyone had gone to bed early

No idea btw, just thought I'd give this a bump ;)

What is comfort access?

Sometimes I could do with something to make a more dignified entrance to the car whilst wearing a short skirt/dress

I would hazard a guess and say... "I don't think so". Never seen anything in the manual about being able to change the settings for it, and I don't have it!

Yes you can change it with the iDrive.

Go to: Menu > Settings (bottom) > Door lock or Central locking (at the bottom, sorry I have a system in Dutch so I don't know the exact word).
Here you can change the settings to open the doors (Comfort, all doors, drivers door).

Thats not it unfortunately, the comfort setting here is the one that drops the windows when you get in. Its not 'comfort access' or 'convenient access' as BMW/NA call it which is a whole suite of keyless start/entry/boot access things. You'd be best talking with a stealer to find out tbh.

I have comfort access, its called the wife. Hey you, go an open the car, warm the seats, get the roof down and have her all warm & ready to go

It's the keyless entry where you leave the key in your pocket or whatever and then use the switch on the handle to get in and out.

Z4 Beemer, ta Gordon - I know you can change it on the Nissan 370Z but I think you could be right.

KDB, thanks but as Maniac has mentioned it's something else

iwatchlive, a wife is an expensive option, an obedient one even more so

I've hardly seen any Z4s with it anyway, it was more a question of curiosity than anything else.

I don't think it can be altered no. Why?

BTW it's keyless entry, keyless start, remote top lower and raise, and a roof down luggage option that part raises the roof to allow you to open the boot.

David

PS my car has it and it's FOR SALE http://www.z4bmw.co.uk

We have it also on our Z4 but does it also raises the roof for easy access to the boot (with the top down)?
I haven't found how this works? ( i know that the comfort access by a 3-series convertible does it but not the one on the Z4 )

.... Sorry that it isn't the correct setting, i will search a bit further in the menu....

Ah thanks guys, it's one of those things where you walk away from the car and it locks, then you worry that it might not have locked so you walk back to check and you find it unlocked

No it doesnt lock or unlock on its own.

To unlock you put your hand under the door handle and it unlocks

To lock there's a sensor to the side of the handle you swipe this with your finger to lock.

The boot (trunk) comfort access system = when roof down double press then hold the boot button. The roof half closes and opens the boot.
