Passenger window gap (front top of window) wind noise

Recently bought an e85 and get a super loud wind noise when going at high speeds. I’ve noticed this is a very common problem. Most people talk about the back of their windows but my window has a noticeable gap in the front top. My drivers side window goes up just fine but my passenger side window doesn’t go up the last few mm’s.

Does anyone know how I can adjust this?

Oh and I’m pretty sure the motor and cable have been replaced on the passenger side.
 
Try the reset to get the drop to work properly. Lots of mentions of it in here somewhere.
If the gap is still there you need to adjust the glass:
Remove the door card
Peel back the lower rear corner of the membrane to reveal a hole at the rear edge
Lower the window until you can see a torx screw through the hole
Loosen a little
This allows the glass to be lifted at the rear and also pushed forwards
Move the glass forward and ensure the rear doesn’t drop then tighten it all up
 
Thanks!! Ya I already tried to reset windows and didn’t work. Took off panel but waiting on a T torx set to arrive cuz I don’t have t-45.

Only loosen slightly. Do NOT take the bolt right out!!
 
Shouldn't really adjust it here - it's a clamp, not an adjuster so there won't be a lot of movement. There's two screws accessible from the underside of the door which control the front/rear pitch and in/out tilt of the glass.

They're an utter faff but they allowed me to adjust my drivers window to sit properly. It wasn't quite right for the soft top and utterly wrong for the hard top. I found a thread here somewhere covering this. It either shows what to do or links to a PDF of the TIS instructions.

Well we will have to disagree on that point. Has worked perfectly for me on many occasions when using the adjustment underneath hasn’t cured it.
If you dismantle a door glass from the assembly you will see the plates are ribbed and tapered to allow adjustment. It allows the rear to lift about 7-8mm and the whole glass to move forward the same amount.
 
Fair enuff (geddit?) In my head it's only got the slack in the hole to play with on the clamp and I assumed the adjusters would have more adjust in them. This is one of those things that, by the time I've got it sorted, I'm sick to the back teeth of the whole thing and instantly forget about it in the struggle to get everything back together before weather, darkness or some far more important task I should have been doing instead.

This guy had the same exact problem but with a different car.

I’m pretty sure this was caused by a window replacement and they didn’t do a great job. Also because the previous owner left me with a lot of random parts and tools and I found an old broken rectangular window bracket like the one I’m adjusting.

Do I need to completely redo the front bracket? Or is there a way to adjust it by taking out the clip?

Hi, I had the problem with the passenger window. It wasn't sitting properly and had some gap from the roof. I bought the car like that. It turned out that someone was doing something there before, and after some time the window cable snapped. After I had the cable fixed, some mechnanics have put everything back and the whole window went to pieces from a lot of pressure.
Then they bought me a new window and official dealership fixed it. It wasn't expensive here in Serbia, and the window was sitting as the left one, like it should. My story :rofl:
 
It probably would be fairly expensive to have the dealership put in a new window where I live. My guess is at least 500 probably more. I am sure this is fixable without buying a new window

The front mount is not really adjustable, just pinned to a slider. There is some adjustment in that mechanism where it attaches. Threaded bolt that seems to allow a degree of adjustment at the front end. Not something I’ve ever dabbled with tbh, you’ll need the whole membrane off to see it clearly,

I had a howling noise in my Z4 above 70mph coming home from the Lake District earlier this year. After nearly 10 miles I worked out that the passenger window had dropped when I opened the door, but not gone back up when I closed the door. So I just closed it with the switch. By far the simplest fix so far, once I had worked out what the problem was!
 
I didn't mean for you to buy a new window. Mine went to pieces. I just meant that your local dealership can adjust your window according to spec.
 
Omg I finally fixed it!!!!!!

I’m 100% sure it was caused by the previous owner my old roommate doing the window regulator by himself. Had to loosen everything and take out window and put it all back together more aligned and fixed problem!
