Passenger seatbelt warning (when it's buckled and occupied)

Anyone got some tips for what to check to fix this, basically had someone in the car this afternoon they were in the seat, belt buckled but the alarm was still chiming/displaying as if it wasn't, then stopped after a couple of minutes
 
Dead occupancy sensor.. it's an extremely common fault.

you can buy a bypass kit for it from ebay :thumbsup:
 
how much is it for a proper kit/fit? feck sake this only kicked in as well after i bought it monday, def wasn't doing it on the test drive

should point out after looking through the threads i didn't get the airbag warning light, simply the seatbelt isn't buckled light on the dash+chime
 
i've ordered that part hopefully be here tomorrow, not sure it's going solve my problem though, The chimes don't go off when the seats on occupied, and i don't get the airbag warning.

it only chimes and flashes the belt warning when someone is in the seat, even though they do have the buckle on, any other ideas what it could be other than the mat? pretensioner or something?
 
is the loom running from the pretensioner > wee box under the seat simply replaceable or?

i'm guessing the occupancy mat "fix" i've ordered won't sort this problem either then, if that box solved it then happy days otherwise a waste of a tenner i guess
 
fixed it... after looking under the seat and the wire from the tensioner>box, cleaning the inside of the tensioner socket etc, when i was pulling the tensioner and rubber sheath out of my way to try remove the top connection i noticed theres a plug inside the sheath itself that had came out

aye there is a loom/cable that runs from a plug at the bottom of tensioner (near the rails for moving the seat) to the box, that's what i thought had busted or got worn over the years so the connection had failed.
 
lol sadly the option that was the least hassle was the answer (although i couldn't find reference to that plug anywhere pure fluke i seen it)
