Passenger seat angle adjustment - e46 parts shared?

Passenger seat won't recline electrically on my coupe with MSport seats.

The motor works fine but no movement which points to a broken cog or mechanism.

I believe I right in thinking the part I would require would be as follows:

Part number 4 - 52107111877

i.e. not the motor but the bar and gearbox that the motor plugs into. Left hand side being the passenger side.

I ask as the E46 3 series appears to share the same parts (I found this out via the RealOem Cross Reference feature). If this is the case I could pick up a breakers electric passenger seat and replace the parts...

Hi mate - I have exactly the same issue, my mechanic has taken the seat apart and it just looks like the gears / cogs that are worn out (They are cheap plastic).

Part 52 10 7 111 877 looks to cover this (plus more) but is £240 from BMW which is pretty pricey!!!


Did you have any luck sorting this?
