A year after completing this fix it looks like my repair has failed probably from having to remove the door card to remove my broken door handle.
So based on forum recommendations I've ditched the butyl tape for tec7 sealant but as my membrane is pretty beat up I'm considering cutting a piece of polythene sheet and covering the whole membrane.
Anybody done this or think it might be a bad idea, is the original membrane breathable and my proposed repair might cause issues etc?
Thoughts on this would be most welcome.
