Passenger airbag disable

Hi all.

I've read multiple threads about disabling the passenger airbag and that the retrofit kit is discontinued. It looks like I might be able to buy the parts individually though and I hear the wiring is already in place for the lock and indicator light.

It looks like I only need to source 2 parts...

Interestingly though I read this evening someone stated that you only need to disable the airbag for rear-facing child seats, but it's not required for front facing seats. Can anyone confirm this at all?..

I've not got a definitive answer yet but this site seems to suggest it's ok, as long as you check with the manufacturer about the distance the airbag comes out from the dash...
