Passenger Airbag Bypass Key Programming

In my quest to retrofit everything possible into my E85 I installed the passenger airbag bypass switch as I already had the prewiring. This included a new center console with the light located opposite the sport button. Sourced the secondhand bits and modified the barrel so my key works with the switch and all went well, light comes on when the ignition turns on and goes out couple of seconds later to show the airbag is working. However when I turn the key to deactivate the airbag it does not trigger it and put the airbag disable light on. I read on a post somewhere that the key needs to be programmed to the switch but I have no idea how to do that, does anyone have any ideas or is this a stealer only solution?

Possibly could it be similar to programming a new key to the car if so what is the procedure?

Thanks for the reply, do you know what needs to be coded to let the car know it’s been fitted? I have Cary can it be done on this or do I need INPA or similar?

Update. ISTA-P allows for retrofitting of systems and I have successfully installed the passenger airbag bypass as a retrofit. Anyone that has the prewiring and has bought the switch panel to fit can complete the full functionality using ISTA-P. Other retrofit kits are available to update such as cruise control, heated seats etc, quite good as it then lists it on the car as a factory option.
