Parking sensors

My 2.5 has aftermarket sensors fitted front and rear, kit off ebay I should think, control box in the boot next to battery and sounder stuck up on reqar left. wires from sensors run to control box from the reaqr sensors and full length of car underneath, cable tied along the length. If I had installed them I would have put the wires in plastic split conduit then cable tied them to protect the wires and look better.
Lots of kits on ebay just find one that may have coloured sensors to match your car and works without a dashboard indicator screen, you only need the sounder, it keeps your dash clear of clutter.

Any pics of the sensors fitted please ?

After research I chose the kit from Vodafone (used to be Cobra). They do two types: one looks like after-market; and, one looks very like generic OEM, and better than the Z4 OEM! I have fitted the better, slightly more expensive, kit to an E85 and to another car - no problems at all and looks good. The most difficult bit is removing the bumper.
Suggestions: get the better kit; make sure you use the correct primer when spraying the sensors, and don't forget the lacquer; buy the correct hole cutter rather than use a drill (prob £15-£20 but we'll worth it - easy, safe and ever so neat).

Also got a front kit to fit. All painted up, ready to go in the next week or so whenever the weather's nice...

Wow. They look as good as the factory fitted ones. What sort of cash could I expect to pay for a rear bumper kit ?

Front and rears as fitted when I got the car, ebay by the look of the kit which I have used on other cars. Colour matched to the silver of the car, kit usually comes with hole saw to drill the mounting holes.

I wouldn't bother with any other make than the cobra vodafone, its the best kit on the market and looks oem unlike all the cheap kits which look...cheap. I fitted some to a vw and got them from this place (below) who will also paint them. If you are just doing rears I would get them painted, after you have bought primer, body colour paint and lacquer you are saving virtually nothing. if doing front sensors as well there will be a saving if you paint yourself.

Anybody (Who hasn't already got them of course) retro fitted rear parking sensors ?? :driving:
For comparison with my pic above - here's a similar pic of my car with factory-fit sensors. In my opinion the flush-fit Vodafone ones look much better, than both the (recessed) factory-fit type and the after-market surface-mount type. All a matter of opinion of course...IMG_20200518_1816318~2.jpg
