Parking sensors not working /wing mirror electrics

Hi, as title, z4 2003 3.0, found another problem or two, parking sensors not working and electic mirrors will move in and out but not up and down, should I take the four way switch apart and clean or buy another one?

The common problem with the door mirrors is the mechanism within the housing wears away, they like cogs.

Is the issue on both mirrors when you press same part on the switch , if yes probably switch

I’ve tried cleaning those switches many times. Give up! Buy a replacement

Regular issue is the Module. They are cheap enough to replace.

where is the module?
Big smile on my face, after all the problems with false service history, dodgy seller and sick car the sun has shone. Fitted new coil packs and plugs to try and fix misfire and going onto limp mode but didnt work. Went to see a mate who has an all singing reader( he does car keys for a living),came up with air mass meter, took out connection to see if that was it. Now I know why people love the Z4 3.0i, it flies, n still smiling.

Don't get too hung up on trim colour for the switch, it is easy to swap yours over, so just try to find a switch that you definitely know works in all directions.
