hi,

The spec of the car I'm looking at getting seems pretty good but one thing o wouldn't mind it having was parking sensors.

With this in mind I thought I would get a quote from BMW to retrofit. They came back with a quote of £3,800 :o
She wasn't even laughing when she told me!!

Needless to say I won't being going down this route.

Have any of you retrofitted parking sensors?

If so,

How much and what do they look like?

The quote from BMW was for front and rear but I'd be happy with just rear. From what she said it was a new bumper to fit the front!

Thanks
Ben

I got a quote when I first got my Z4 (2015) from this company, detais were provided by Craig Berger the Sales Advisor.

I didnt go ahead as a matter of choice, may be worth a try, seemed reasonable.

Cheers for the link. I'll take a look.

I'm located in Norfolk, not far from Great Yarmouth. There is a decent car audio etc specialist nearby so I'll see what they say. Must be better than £3,800 !!

When I had mine, it ticked all the boxes apart from sensors.

To be fair, the car is very low, and when parking a high curb will be the one thing that will cause damage.
Not sure if the sensors would pick this up.... if they do they are worth having.

If not, you soon get used to fhe bonnet length, rear sensors arent really needed because you are pretty much sat on the back wheels.

I test drove one with sensors and idrive, and that had a really cool animation, but with a bit of extra care its no big deal.
