Parking like a xXxX on purpose...

So at the office, here's where I park. Yes I know it will get on some peoples t1ts, but so far the car remains dingless. The company put a new perimeter fence in some years back and this made the last parking space fit for a bike really so I now use half of that and the next to ensure a nice shield around the car. Some would say nuts or worse, I say peace of mind bordering obsessive. How about you?

Nothing wrong with that.... although judging by the picture you didnt read your employment contact properly and picked the wrong colour car for your work place

I like to be different ;)

yep exactly what i would do. Car parks are a pain, not enough room. Try parking at the local hospital. My everyday car has been battered senseless.

i understand why, i have a couple of dings on my doors because the wife has to park as close as possible to supermarket entrances.

I spend forever looking for end of aisle spaces and park miles away from the supermarket - I dont park across multiple bays, id be cross if i couldnt find a place and saw parking like yours

When I worked I used to park on the grass next to the official car park for the same reason - After I retired they grew a hedge to stop anybody else getting the same idea.

I regularly used to straddle across the lines in public car parks until I got a parking ticket ( £50 ) - fortunately the CEO got one letter wrong on the notice so I successfully appealed. I'm a bit more wary now - I find an end space and park up against the line ( about an inch in ) which leaves a bigger space next to me.

I recognise I'm a sad bastard I know but it reduces the risk.

Safeish work parking

I try and park at least one wall against a wall if I'm really stuck for a decent spot.

At work I park similarly and next to me parks another guy who thinks the same so I'm safe on the other side

Agree on this. If your employee let's you get away with it then not so bad but in public car parks it should be a big no-no.

I read somewhere that we'll be getting Spotsquad or equivalent next year. A smartphone app where you actually get rewarded for reporting bad parking.
There's a Beta running in Canada at the moment. http://www.spotsquad.ca/your-marching-orders.html

lol and yet sigh. As my original post states, this is how I park at the office. As for letting me do it, well as I'm the boss I get the say. There is a lot of free parking available, and as also mentioned in the original post, parking next to the fence is not possible as the space is too small for most cars wider than 3 feet.

As for public car parks, I park on the end of a row always.

My space at work (only pic i have on my mobile when i used my Z ) - not the safest but avoids door dings!upyze7yq.jpg

I would find that annoying....

Yes car-park dings happen and yes they are extremely annoying, but the kind of tit that does that won't be put off by you covering two spots.

There is no more neutrality in the world. You either have to be part of the solution, or you're going to be part of the problem.

I wasn't being judgmental Maniac. If you're the boss you can park where you like. :D
What if you colleagues/employees started doing the same as you in other bays as it must be ok coz the boss does it? :D
At our workplace we had one new starter parking her Mini Cooper across 2 bays with no consideration for colleagues.
Thankfully someone had a word in her ear and it doesn't happen too often now.

Its not something I'd ever do publicly as I'd expect paint all over the car or something. Always row end stuff then. But at the office with so many vans etc my car would be in pieces if I didn't protect it. The day I get significant grief over it will be the day I choose to relocate to offices with a bigger car park.

Vans are the worse. I work at a large exhibition venue. Our staff parking area is handed over to Exhibitor parking on Exhibition days and you would not want to park anywhere near some of these f*ckers.
On these days I either park in a very quiet street 1/4 mile away or take the bus in.
