Parking Brake

Sorry, can't help you on this one but I am sure someone will come along that can...

wow, I'm surprised no one's come up with any suggestions..maybe bumping it up will yield something for you Zedrider. You know, mine rolls on a slope too. Has to be around 17, maybe 18 degrees I'm guesstimating. That's not super steep but if I have to stop on a slope such as that, I just put it in gear, use the h.b. and get out. It's sort of a PITA but, what else do you do? I'm curious how you adjust it too.
I'll nag these guys to death for you 'til we find an answer! :D

I alway leave my Zed in gear (Reverse) with the hand brake set when parked. I don't trust the hand brake to hold by itself on any grade however slight.

What we're referring to WLH, is needing to stop somewhere briefly, like say a stop along my driveway to open the gate or get the mail on my way out, and leaving the car running as you're only needing to stop for a few seconds. Obviously you can't leave the car in gear and have it running at the same time. It's just a small inconvenience to have to put it in gear, h.b., shut the car off, open the gate, get back in etc. If the handbrake were strong enough, I'd like to be able to set it, put the car in neutral, shut my gate or get my mail or whatever, get in and get going. It would be nice if the handbrake could hold me for just a few seconds on a small slope.

Thanks for the Bimmerfest link inTgr8r. Thats what I have been looking for, I will have a go when the weather picks up..... about July!

fire-n-ice, I understand what you're saying but I just don't trust the hand brake to do that. Wish I could but I can't recall any stick transmission car's hand brake that I have ever had that I would trust unless parked on near dead level ground. You would think after all these year and technoligical advances a strong reliable hand brake could be made.... :headbang:
