Parasitic drain - boot light switch?

I'd not use my E85 for a couple of weeks over Xmas, when I went out to start her up she had a totally flat battery. As far as I know the electrics are unmodified.

When I got the car the boot light was disconnected, so wondering if this could be the culprit. But I cannot see a switch for the boot light, where is it?
 
Probably uses the same sensor that tells you you boot is working. Does the dash tell you you boot is open?

Easiest way though is to Stick a mobile phone in you boot in video mode, you will soon see if the light goes out or not.
 
No warning light on the dash. But the phone video trick was a great suggestion. Did that and the light is turning off OK.

So a bit of a mystery still.
 
Battery life on these cars isn't great if they don't get much use. Can you use a battery tender to keep the battery in tip top condition?
 
I disconnected my boot light as I have a trickle charger and leave the boot lid open a bit for the leads.

You can fully close the boot without trapping the leads.
 
I leave the boot up in the garage if the c-tek is connected. Reminds me to remove it before driving off! I just manually close the boot latch with the key blade to turn off the boot light and allow the alarm to function.

It is the time of year for batteries to die, especially if the car is kept outside in the cold.Ttrickle chargers are a good idea or extend the life - I use one on mine and my battery is nearly 10 years old if PVR never changed it :o ...
