Papers Software - experiences?

I know there are a few students/academics amongst the Zed community on here. Have any of you used Papers? It's a piece of software for creating a database of academic references/articles. A bit like iTunes except it's a library of academic articles rather than music.

I've got a 40% student discount which reduces the cost to about £35 and I was wondering if anyone could provide any feedback on it?

I want to use it for a thesis I need to write between now and the end of April.

It is a pain in the neck undertaking a bibliography for any academic article
It is often simpler to create your own as you are going along - Microsoft Word allows you to create one by a single click at the end end of the thesis.
For a one off document or combing several different documents and merging bibliographies I found it to be good
You can create and delete and recreate it as many times as you wish
I did a dissertation last year for a MA and found that you still had to edit the references for each quote or chapter
The automatic references that were available for articles were not always in the same format that I was using and needed tweaking.
I know this is not exactly what you were asking but my twopence worth of experiences may be (possibly) helpful

if your doing any kind of large document then any reference manager will be a good idea but they are a pain to fill in and your best bet is to keep up to date with it rather than leave it till the last min. i used to use reference manager many moons ago.

find out what the policy of the journal/document etc needs to be and reference accordingly.
