No shortage on the continent (France, Belgium or Germany).
Got to our normal comfort break at Heverlee services in Belgium (still had 1/4 tank from my trip down from Liverpool), and filled up at @1.59/litre (diesel). Got into Germany and saw prices €0.10/litre cheaper, so we’ll either just fill up as we need it, or divert to Luxembourg to save another €0.10/litre. Averaging about 50mpg with a combination of 100km 80+mph motorway runs and 30-50mpg surakarta/suburban twisties.
Tunnel was very simple, no delays or queues checking in, and just a quick passport check, then covid certificate check and we were through.
On arrival in Calais, it was straight off and out with no further checking.
Every store in Germany requires a mask, and the restaurants require masks and covid certificates - no exceptions, the police will be called. Some restaurants/hotels are running skeleton staff and limited menus though.
Towns are relatively quiet, as are most roads…a 2 hour drive through the Mosel valley was very calming…and not seen any sign of shortages in shops.
