Panic alarm?

The other day I set the alarm off when unlocking the car. I've no idea how. I didn't even realise it was mine at the time! Anyone any idea how it happens?
 
There's something in the manual about that, and it says how to set it off (like pressing the boot button twice or something random) ... But it needs coding to be active. Guessing it isn't normally UK spec unless coded.
