Panel behind seats / under roof

I picked up a Z4MR last week and had a few issues with it which are hopefully going to be dealt with by the dealer next week...however, I have noticed something and I am not sure if it is an issue...

When the roof is up there is a space between the back of the seats/speakers/cubby holes but just under the rear window that looks like it should come up. You have to peer through the rear window to see it. It's probably where the roof sits when down. The reason I wonder if it should come up is because at the moment it is sitting about 6/7 inches lower than the boot line...

I will try and get a photo but wondered if anyone could let me know off-hand if it is supposed to be like that from my wooly description :D

Isnt this the fold away space mentioned in the manual, you can increase the space in the boot when the roof is in the up position by turning the two handles. You MUST restore it to its original position before trying to put the roof down otherwise you will damage the roof.
 
That sounds normal to me..... thats the space where the roof will go into.

If you want to raise it (to increase luggage capacity) then there are two levers in the boot to lift that tray up.

On mine i cant put the roof down with the tray up (as i once tried from the key) the led on the roof switch will flash orange,
