Im sure ill find something that fits the bill at an auto parts place or Home Depot but Im wondering if anyone has "spruced up" there brake rotor hubs?

They come painted or coated that flat silver color from the factory, Is there a paint out there that duplicates this finish?
I don't want to paint them a silver gloss like brake caliper paint,
Just looking for a flat silver finish, similar or identical to factory stock,

Or as usual am I the only one doing weird things like this?? :P

ok well Ive answered my own post lol,

After searching online and going back to a company I previously used when restoring a old Ford Mustang, I checked out Eastwood Company's paints for restoring factory finish,

I seen this paint and ordered it,
Ill see how it goes when It arrives

Heres the item

The rotor hats are aluminum on the M.
They clean up nicely with some brake dust cleaner & a brass brush.

JMO but I wouldn't paint them

Oh,

There not painted? Guess I better go outside and look at mine lol

Yes they are bare aluminum which will spot and tarnish. I removed the discs, cleaned the hubs with steel wool, and sprayed them with a few coats of clear lacquer for protection (of course I masked off the discs).

Mere mortals that own non-M's have rotors that are zinc coated (I doooo believe). A little soap and scotchbrite should get them to where they need to me.

Aluminum hubs on the M, news to me.

Yeah... they're 2 piece rotor & alum hat.

Clearcoat might work really well for street, but I'm not sure how it would stand up to track use heat.
It's Just my personal preference to keep them naked.

I find that they clean up quite nicely, when I have the wheels off.
I use P21S wheel cleaner & small brass brush; they look like new.

Using track pads (Hawk etc) will definitely put the temp high enough to scorch any applied paint. If only for street use then paint away IMHO.
