Painting parking sensors

Has anyone on here ever home painted parking sensors? My new black Z4 only has one factory painted sensor left, the other 3 are just black unpainted ones (someone obviously going for the cheap option when replacing them) and it's bugging me as they are going slightly discoloured and dont look as nice as painted ones.

How is the best way to paint these to ensure they still work? The sensors in my last Z4 used to play up so I'd rather not break these :D .

I'm pretty sure you're able to sand them and spray them to colour code to the car.

Just make sure you spray a thin coat of paint to prevent it interfering with the way that the sensor works.

light sand

light coat of primer, paint and clear coat.

Easier to do if they are off the car mind you!

just do everything a bit lighter than normal, and you should be fine.

I'm used to doing Audi ones, these break all the time.....

Excuse the professional set up, don't let it put you off...

Cheers guys, I will give them a go at some point and will make sure my set up is just as professional!

Impressive paint booth.
Much better than my typical 'blue hand' method!

Just sayin'
Bumpy :tumbleweed:
