Paint/Coating Flaking...

Had the front grills of yesterday and noticed that the brace behind the grills had it’s coating starting to flake off.
I’m guessing it’s there to protect from corrosion; anyone know the best way to remedy it; is it s special coating?

They look like aluminium so corrosion not really an issue. If it bothers you cosmetically I would give it a brush with some black underbody sealant.

I rubbed mine down with sandpaper and sprayed them in situ with a couple of coats of Autoglym satin black spray

yeah one of mine did this, again sand down, wipe clean, i just used black hammerite
