Pagid RS29 yellow

anything to slop them clanking around? They dis not come with clips and I have OEM calipers.

You see, I dont mind all the brake dust nor the constant squeeling, but at times it sounds like I'm driving a bloody wedding car(albeit a noisy one) with 4 saucepans clangging around at the back...

If anyone suggests I'm not driving hard enough youy can just kiss my ...
 
What do you mean they did not come with clips? I'm sorry if i'm not of more help but i haven't personally experienced anything like this.
 
I mean that there are little metal springs/ clips that normally hold the standard pads in place so they don't rattle in the callipers. As the Pagids heat up very high, it would melt them (apparently?) so they don't seem to come with anything to stop them rattling/ clagging around. Does not affect braking at all though.
 
One of the small differences between 'road' & 'race' pads. Anti-rattle/squeal elements are not usually supplied for race pads, as someone racing on a track doesn't really care if they make a bit of noise.

Maybe Pagid make a clip that doesn't melt - maybe made of a similar material to the pad backing/brake wear sensor?

I did not know that the Pagids dont have those! I just assumed all pads had them! Strange though because i'd think a lot of other brake components would melt way before a piece of metal like that would.

GA41 you are a bible of knowledge! Will pester Pagid.
Playalistic/ Beedub how about you? were you running Pagid yellows before your AP BBK? ie: on the OEM callipers?

I think they just don't fit properly on the OEM calipers.

Once I've worn the set up out I'll go for AP's/ Alcon I think...

Did you ever found a solution for the rattling Pagid's? I'm ok with the squealing, but that rattling sound really makes people looks weird when I pass by.

Many race pads have this problem with OEM callipers. Only solutions are to buy pads with the clips or get someone to remove them from the old pads and attach to the new. No idea how long that would last though. Once I got to this point I gave up on the OEM setup and went for APs.
 
My dealer said sometimes Pagid delivers them with clips and sometimes without. It's just unpredictable.

I'll see when I need a set of new pads what I'll do. Might opt for an AP kit if the funds are available.
