overseas bank transfer

We're going independent next year to Greece ie flight only and book accommodation separately - have to transfer 440 euros as deposit for studios - owner has sent me his his bank details ( Eurobank ) never done this before - hows the best way to do it and what is the cost ?

I've known the owner for years ( it's the same place where we use his sunbeds each year ) so completely trustworthy . I assume I just go in the Bank and do it . As an old git I don't do internet banking but have used the telephone service in the past.

I've transferred money to both Thailand and USA in the past via my bank Barclays. Just did it over the counter giving the receiving account details, very straightforward. I can't remember though if I was charged, pretty sure was.

Think barclays charged around 30 quid last time I used them for overseas, transferwise.com was less than 3 quid

Another one for Transfer wise. You get a much better rate and lower fees.

Yeah but it's dead simple just do it as you are entering the details to send the payment

I do overseas transfers via my own bank online. It is one of the options on my online account.

I would transfer the money via the easiest method to get it back if it all goes tits up. With the economy in Greece at present, businesses are going to the wall, all to frequently, so your €440 could be down the swanny, long before you're lying on a sunbed, sipping a cold Mythos.

Even with all the costs involved, Paypal could well be the safest method.

£15 for a SEPA bank transfer via Barclays. Totally safe and good rates. (Remember it's the rate not commission that matters)

I make a transfer to my bank im Spain every month or so and have gone for 3 years.

Any online bank can do it thanks to the EU making such movement cheap and easy.
