Over the moon with my insurance quote.

So yesterday it was that time of year... Ring around and find an insurance company that won't cost the earth. I am 23 and have a list of modifications to declare - I was expecting to be paying top dollar.

I have no points or claims to my name and was quoted £500 with the Mrs as a named driver (she has 3 points from an sp30 offence).

Last year I was in the seven hundreds to insure an Astra J so thought I would take a minute to reccomend Adrian Flux, especially to the other young drivers on here  .

My Zed is insured with Adrian Flux as well, by far the cheapest quote and they have good customer service to go with it.
That said I tried to insure our daily drivers with them and they were VERY uncompetitive, I think AF prefer to deal with more unusual, enthusiast cars.

I think its all down to the way the wind blows on the day! I've just moved from AF to Heritage (the firm that insures another of my classic cars) now back with the underwrites I started with for £90 less - about a 50% reduction and no its not a multicar policy they wouldn't accept the classic must to the embarrassment of Heritage. Anyone understand how this works :?

Doh stupid  - should have said that's for my Caterham. The Zed is still with Aviva business use etc included

Interesting that AF aren't always the company to go through with standard cars. I did get asked if I am a member of any owners club or online forum, to which I proudly announced being a member on here. I asked if it actually makes any odds and the guy said it opens up more underwriting company's as an owners club / forum member is more likely to care about their car.

I am not to sure about AF, called them up for a quote and they werent able to insure me because I hadn't owned the car for a year, despite me having 14 years no claims and 0 points.

I treat companies with the same respect they treat me, so even if it costs me more I will never use AF for insurance. Yes i know, biting off my nose to spite my face etc..
