Glad to get a message from PorthoZ4 suggesting a run this Wednesday. Steph and I have been a bit busy of late so we were glad to have the chance to get out. :)

Dave had a route in mind and we headed out to Tan Hill for lunch. Fabulous roads, some relaxed driving and some sections pressing on with brilliant views and the weather was gorgeous. :D

Visited Tan Hill many times but never had lunch there - there was even a helicopter dropped in for lunch - how cool is that! :o

Was very concerned about the visitor in the car park mind - especially as it seemed a bit nervous - as was I seeing it stumbling about!

Steph and I had a terrific day and it was a relief and fun to be back out in the M. :D :D

We're busy again now for a short while but hope to be out and on the road again soon. Thanks Dave and Trisha - a magic day

It's great seeing your pics Paul, pretty envious of your fantastic scenery hailing from Essex & working in London :headbang:
Keep them coming!
Rob

Looks a great drive out :driving: Tan Hill does feel like its the centre of nowhere & felt a long way from home when I went up last year although it was only 85 miles .
There's a few Zs heading up there on Sunday I think with "Cerbera"

We had a long weekend recently staying south of Durham so it was a drive out to Whitby and a short day out in Durham.....had it in mind to head up into the hills but glad we went to Durham, what a relaxed place to stroll about on a Sunday.Whitby was manic by comparison on the Sat.
From my research it certainly looks like you've plenty of good driving roads close to home so we'll be back no doubt.....in fact I fancy a weekend in Durham as a base.

Highlander
Durham is a beautiful city and would be a great base to explore our fantastic driving roads. If you do decide to come back down give me a shout and I'm sure we will be able to sort some epic days out.

Cheers, that would be appreciated.....unlikely to happen this year now.Off to Ireland next week for a week and 4 days in Thurso at beginning of October only leaves an extended long weekend at the end of October which I'd earmarked for some more work in the garden.......got a pond delivered during the week so plenty to do to get it installed :headbang:
No driving holiday in Europe for us this year which means I'll be planning a Euro-trip for next year :D
Should still manage some long weekends in the UK though.

Ha! As I always say it's the driver not just the car. Two convertible family eh - know what that feels like.
Nice one, looks a peach. Have a great holiday and hope to catch up and hear all about it and the new
wheels soon.
