Seems like every time I wash my baby, I find a new scratch or chip. Not hard to spot in my Sapphire Black paint. :x
So anyway as it was a gorges day (yesterday and today), it was high time to get rid of a few.
Step one, wash the car and strip off any wax..Not hard, anyone can do it.
Step 2, apply some of that touch up paint. Note: the scratches were all below the top coat so this is going to be highly aggressive. I also failed to get a pic of the scratches but you will see how aggressive I was with the touch up paint. There was also one on the fender, so my area of work was quite large. I let this dry for 24 hours.

Day 2: Another wash as it was dusty just sitting and I didn't want any contaminants to make more scratch's while I worked.
In hand 1 sheet of 1000 Grit, 2000 Grit, 3000 Grit, 5000 Grit, Polish Compound, Carnuba Car Wax.
Let the Sanding commence. I can see in my minds eye some of your grimacing already.
With the 1000 grit, sand just the area needed, with each successive grit going out a little bit further to smooth out the last, till we reach this stage.... about a minuet and plenty of water running.

I know its not pretty, kind of scary actually, but as you can see everything smoothed out as intended.
Polishing compound in hand and we begin to see the color creep back through, continuing till we reach a mirror finish like so. DO NOT LET THE COMPOUND DRY, may take multiple applications to get this to look right.

Now that we can see color and no scratches, time add some sealant and wax that baby up.
Look ma, looks like new.

So any way, five glaring scratches that wont bug my over tuned eyes.
